OCF has many awareness events and free screening events scheduled for 2010. We are in the process of confirming dates and locations for the events listed below and will update this page of the web site routinely as new information is available. If you would like to volunteer to work at one of these events, please contact the OCF office. Besides volunteers we are particularly interested in survivors becoming involved as speakers and participants.

The purpose for this event is to raise awareness of oral cancer and the importance of its early detection and prevention. Proceeds from this event benefit the Oral Cancer Foundation.

About the David Nasto Memorial Walk:
This walk is in memory of a man who loved life. David was always seeking a new adventure, he lived each day to its absolute fullest!! But this all came to an end due to a diagnosis of stage IV tongue cancer. A disease that if found early is highly survivable! David did not know the sore on his tongue was cancer. That is why we do this walk, to spread awareness and early detection. Hopefully we can save others from experiencing the pain and suffering David endured. Help make oral cancer history!! Lets make a difference!

Bartlesville Oral Cancer Walk- October 16, 2010
This Oral Cancer awareness walk will be held in Bartlesville, OK.
Registration will start at 8am, Walk will begin at 9am. There will be free Oral Cancer screenings available on site. This walk is Rain or Shine!

St. Petersburg Oral Cancer Walk- November 6, 2010
Pinellas County Dental Hygiene Association will be holding St. Petersburg’s first-ever Oral Cancer Awareness Race at Fort Desoto Beach which will follow a scenic 5K route. There will also be a family friendly 1 mile Fun Run for people and pets. Prizes will be award to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for different age groups. Join us in raising awareness for such a debilitating disease. Early detection saves lives, learn what to look for and risk factors that contribute to oral cancer.
